Moonlight paths, stars and sunrise

This morning we went for a walk under the stars and the moon. This was not a short walk either. From where we live in Songchon-dong to Expo bridge is about 7km. It was interesting at first, for the townfolks are still out and about enjoying the night life, getting a bite to eat or just trying to get home. So as we made our way through the streets and further down to the main highway. It was hot and humid. We're breaking a sweat at this point and wondering how much longer till we get there. Patrick is so sweaty, an I'm still happy about having him there with me. For once he volunteered to do something with me. For this small change I'll deal with him being cranky about how wet he is. Then we reach the river access and head toward the walking path going along the river. We start slowly following the steps down to the path. As you move away from the main over pass an unto the river path, the city lights are filtered out some and the night sky becomes much clearer. Then the magical moments started happening, The wind picked up and gentle breezes were blowing. We started talking about various things which were from what we like and didn't like. Sometimes an idea or two would make its way into what we talked about. You really could see the moonlight. It was bright like sunlight. There were actual stars out, not the twinkling satellites you would see from time to time in city light. These were the real stars of wonder, stars of beauty burning bright. Patrick was talking to me about which stars were which. Suddenly there were shooting stars, well three anyways. We finally made it to where the main part of the river flows in to the larger part. Then we saw it, Expo bridge. Awesome is one way of describing this bridge. Then we walked around and talked, Patrick was looking about talking about some of the buildings that were around. The surrounding areas around Daejeon is mountains. Seeing the sun coming up above them was something sweet and promising. We spent a good chunk of time taking pictures and walking along the bridge. After the sun fully came up over the city, we noticed there is way more than just the Park. Walking back towards the other side of the bridge we notice that there were other walking paths that led to the various flower gardens. Walking along further there was a rose garden, this was like something from an English rose garden. Then there was the fruit garden, which was so temping. Then we realized that we would want to head home soon.  The walk home was a battle of willpower, but it was funny trying to walk back in pain. Really wished I had worn my walking shoes. Oh well, going to Expo bridge and back was worth it.
